Individual Therapy

We utilize a variety of modalities during individual sessions. We utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Approach Therapy (CBT) to help achieve a healthy way of thinking. Another framework that is essential in our practice is Client-Centered Therapy. Client-centered therapy views the client as the expert of their own life and the therapist is there to provide a non-judgemental space full of unconditional positive regard and support.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is an integrative approach that uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, sounds, taps) to reprocess unprocessed memories that activate current-day triggers. EMDR works with memories, beliefs, body sensations, and emotions to be able to reduce vividness and emotions associated with traumatic memories. EMDR prompts our brain to do what it needs to do to heal and properly store unprocessed memories.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma is subjective. What may be traumatic to one person, may not be traumatic to someone else. Unresolved trauma can lead to feelings of inadequacy, depression, anxiety, problems in relationships, self-esteem concerns, and many more feelings. Using a Psychoanalytic approach allows for repressed experiences and emotions to be worked through. Through this process and the use of coping skills, you may see improvement in your quality of life.

Adolescent/Parent Therapy

Adolescence is a difficult time. There are changes going on through an adolescent’s body, mind, and much more. Being a parent and navigating through your child’s adolescence alone can lead to immense feelings of frustration and feelings of inadequacy as a parent. Counseling can give both the adolescent and the parent a space to share their experience and together we can move forward to having a more cohesive family unit.
